Dog Obedience Classes

A well-trained dog is a joy to be around. It is easier to take him out in public and have other people come to your home and enjoy him. By having a dog who is under voice control, you can prevent your dog from entering serious situations which could injure him or others.

Weir Veterinary Services has recently started offering obedience classes to help make your dog a good citizen of the Lloydminster area.  Currently we are holding two different classes - one for puppies, and another for older dogs.  Both sets of classes run for 5 weeks, at a cost of $75.  To register your pet, or for more information on the classes, please phone Jodine at the clinic: (780) 875-2281.  Here is an idea of what our classes will cover:

1.  Puppy Behavior

This class is offered for puppies aged 10-16 weeks.  The instructor will cover handling, canine behavior, and some basic obedience commands.  Puppies must have up to date vaccines (vaccinated at least 2 weeks prior to class beginning) to be eligible.

2.  Basic Obedience

Basic Obedience classes are for dogs over the age of four months.  The instructor will use positive reinforcement training to introduce your dog to basic training commands and methods.
